Day 1 Tarangire National Park

On the second day of your 6 Days Great Migration Safari, you’ll leave the baobab-dotted landscape of Tarangire behind and head towards the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park. After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you’ll marvel at the breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro highlands, with the landscape shifting as you transition from one ecosystem to another. Upon reaching the Serengeti, you’ll stop for lunch, taking in the expansive views that stretch as far as the eye can see. Afterward, the real adventure begins with an afternoon game drive in central Serengeti. This area, known for its year-round abundance of wildlife, will immediately captivate you. As you journey through the park, you’ll witness the famous Serengeti wildlife—lions lounging, elephants grazing, and, if you’re lucky, you may even spot a cheetah racing across the plains. The Serengeti is also home to the Great Migration, and during this season, large herds of wildebeest and zebras can be seen moving across the landscape in search of greener pastures. As the day comes to a close, you’ll head to your camp in the central Serengeti, where you’ll rest for the night, eager for the full day of exploration that awaits tomorrow (Serengeti Safari Lodge, Matawi, Heritage, or similar).

On the third day of your 6 Days Great Migration Safari, after an early breakfast, we begin our journey from central Serengeti to the northern region. The drive itself is an adventure, as you pass through the vast plains of the Serengeti, where wildlife sightings continue to surprise at every turn. Along the way, you’ll likely encounter various animals, from towering giraffes grazing on acacia trees to predators on the prowl. As you venture further north, anticipation builds, knowing that you’re approaching the heart of the Great Migration. The northern Serengeti is where the famous Mara River crossing takes place, and the chance to witness this natural spectacle is thrilling. The herds of wildebeest and zebras gather by the thousands, preparing to make the dangerous journey across the river, where crocodiles await. Upon arrival in the northern Serengeti, you'll have a late lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive. You’ll soak in the last moments of the Serengeti’s rugged beauty, with its open plains and rich wildlife, offering unforgettable sightings at every turn. After this morning game drive, you’ll bid farewell to the Serengeti and begin your scenic journey towards the Ngorongoro Highlands. The drive takes you through stunning landscapes, with rolling hills and vast grasslands stretching as far as the eye can see. Transitioning from the lowlands to the lush, green highlands of Ngorongoro, the change in scenery is dramatic. As you ascend into the highlands, the air becomes cooler, and the landscape turns greener. The rich volcanic soil supports vibrant vegetation, and you may even spot Maasai herders tending to their cattle.
